Northrop Grumman Tactical Space Systems is seeking a DevOps System Administrator. This position is in Colorado Springs, CO.  The DevOps System Administrator will support Tactical Space Systems Division in their development and deployment of satellite ground software to customer resources.

What You’ll Get to Do:

Find a problem - solve a problem. To be successful, you should have a strong bias for action. You will be supporting DevOps Engineers, a team of ~8-10 people. 

  • Maintain DevOps applications that span languages and toolsets including Python, Postgres, Ansible, cloud infrastructure provisioning, PKI, and static code analysis
  • Support DevOps development activities and flow process improvements into the DevOps pipeline
  • Maintain development pipeline applications to include BitBucket, Jenkins, etc.
  • Ensure monitoring and health of deployed resources
  • Document maintenance / deployment procedures
  • Implement clean and maintainable infrastructure-as-code that adheres to industry best practices
  • Ensure stability of Windows / Linux mixed environment
  • On a daily basis you will be supporting the needs of users and DevOps engineers and providing help accessing DevOps resources

This position can be filled at the Principal or Sr Principal level.

Basic Qualifications

Principal Administrator

  • Bachelor’s in Science and 6 years of experience or a Master’s degree and 4 years of experience.  Experience can be considered in lieu of degree
  • Exposure to cloud-based computing concepts
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps principals and toolsets
  • Experience using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and concepts
  • Experience administering Windows Workstations / Servers
  • Experience administering development applications (Jenkins, Nexus, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Containerization (Docker, Podman, etc.)
  • U.S. Citizenship with active Top Secret clearance

Sr. Principal Administrator

  • Bachelor’s in Science and 10 years of experience or a Master’s degree and 8 years of experience.  Experience can be considered in lieu of degree
  • Exposure to cloud-based computing concepts
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps principals and toolsets
  • Experience using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and concepts
  • Experience administering Windows Workstations / Servers
  • Experience administering development applications (Jenkins, Nexus, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Containerization (Docker, Podman, etc.)
  • U.S. Citizenship with active Top Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Agile methodology experience
  • Experience with OpenStack
  • Experience creating, executing, and troubleshooting complex, automated processes used to configure servers and/or deploy code
  • Experience with continuous integration/deployment tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, etc.
  • Experience using Linux tool/automation and/or shell scripting (bash, ruby, perl, etc.)
  • Experience with a programming language (Python preferred)
  • Experience with automation / automating manual processes
  • Extensive problem-solving abilities
  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance

Salary Range: $86,300 USD - $129,500 USD
Salary Range 2: $107,000 USD - $160,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
