Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Sr. Principal System Administrator – EUCOM O&M SME to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located out of Ramstein Air Force Base, Germany.

Position Overview:

Position will be located at Ramstein AFB in Germany. The successful candidate will report to the EUCOM C2BMC O&M Site Lead and to the C2BMC Watch Officer (CWO). The candidate is responsible for providing technical support as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on all local hardware, software and network issues for the EUCOM C2BMC systems in a 24x7 operations and test environment.

Essential Functions:

  • This position requires the ability to work in a team environment on multiple tasks that involve interfacing with the Warfighters to provide second level technical support, providing on-site troubleshooting of all C2BMC assets at all EUCOM sites, and interfacing with the C2BMC Command Center (CCC) Level 2 team for all escalated issues.
  • Candidate will also perform all software installs and upgrades to the C2BMC systems assigned to their AOR.
  • Candidate will be responsible for the sustainment of all Ramstein AFB C2BMC physical inventory including spares and COMSEC devices and provide accurate documentation of all inventory movement.
  • The candidate will lead the Mission-Specific Vendor Plug-in (MSVP) Functionality for the C2BMC Program\'s global operations for EUCOM and be a primary interface to the MSVP Lead, MSVP Vendor, National Team and Customers.
  • Travel in support of Remote Sites is expected.
  • Performs other related duties and assignments as required.
  • Position is normally Mon - Fri: will require on-call, evening and weekend support during system anomalies and or tests.
     

Basic Qualifications:

  • An active Secret clearance is required.
  • 10 Years with Bachelor’s degree in a related field; 14 years’ experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Must possess a DoD 8570 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA)
  • Proficient Red Hat and Microsoft Systems Administration History.
  • Proficient in VMware vSphere 6.0 and newer.
  • Working knowledge and experience with operations and maintenance of large-scale computer and communications systems/networking environments (Preferably C2BMC System).
  • Working knowledge and experience in system and/or network administration that include the following (UNIX, Linux, Windows, Cisco and Juniper).
  • Working knowledge and experience in troubleshooting hardware and software components such as ADSI, CDS and TDACS.
  • Candidate must be a self-starting problem solver with the ability to work with military and civilian personnel in a potential high-stress situation with limited supervision.
  • Understand the physical security requirements for open and closed storage of COMSEC materials.
  • Demonstrate the ability to provide advanced troubleshooting on COMSEC devices including contacting technical resources from the manufacturer.
  • Effective communications and ability to brief technical system/network issues and overall system reporting to program management and customer leadership using appropriate tools such as Microsoft Visio and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

  • TS/SCI preferred
  • Previous experience maintaining C2BMC systems and/or a Missile Defense Agency background
  • Scripting on Linux, UNIX or Windows servers and Windows Workstation
  • Strong understanding of Two-Factor Authentication administration
  • Experienced in IT Service Management (ITSM) principles
  • Large scale DoD Sysadmin experience and/or knowledge of C2BMC Operations

Salary Range: $107,000 USD - $160,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
