The Northrop Grumman Enterprise Services (ES) Sector is seeking a Principal Information Systems Project Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse leaders in our Aeronautics Systems Program Management Office (AS PMO), at our Melbourne, Florida site.

The AS PMO provides information technology solutions and services across Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems Sector, driving superior business performance through a robust, secure, and cost-effective IT innovations, enabling our Digital Transformation. 
 
This motivated individual will serve as the Project Manager within the AS PMO Project Integration Team (PIT) Defenders, supporting one of four PIT Defender Agile Value Streams: Direct to Programs, Direct to Sites, Direct to Sector Functions or Digital Transformation.  As a PIT Defender, this motivated member will perform leadership tasks and activities, project management competencies, or drive the continuous delivery of an agile IT solution.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: 

  • Embody and demonstrate the Northrop Grumman Leadership Values and Characters 
  • Lead and direct a multi-functional team  
  • Continuously communicate with customers, stakeholders and all resources, to support the delivery of all IT services or products assigned 
  • Effectively manage the cost, schedule and performance of all tasks, activities, and/or projects/products assigned 
  • Create cost estimates for proposals, use earned value metrics to manage financials, develop return to green plans for any variances 
  • Create a project schedule or backlog, identifying: work breakdown structures (WBS), resources, procurements (i.e. IT hardware or software), with a target transition to production, go live or minimal viable product (MVP). 
  • Create and present project/product status, using a stop light metric on key performance indicators (i.e. overall status, cost, schedule, …), current project funding status, identifying an possible Risk or Issues, and any return to green plans. 
  • Perform and Change Request (CR’s) required to support the delivery of any tasks or activities 
  • Utilize tools, such as MS Office (i.e. PowerPoint, Excell, SharePoint, MS Project), PM Compass, Shopper Lite Enhanced (SLE), AzureDevOps, Jira, or RIO, to effectively manage assigned projects/products 

This position may be hired at the Principal or Senior Principal level, depending on the depth and years of experience candidates bring.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Principal : Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree with 3 years relevant experience. 
  • Senior Principal: Bachelor’s Degree with 9 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree with 5 years relevant experience. 
  • Proficiencies in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Power Point, and Excel. 
  • Experience leading multiple project assignments 
  • Problem solving with integrated team including but not exclusive to the program manager, functional managers, and customers 
  • This position requires US Citizenship and an active or current DOD Secret Clearance. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • An active DoD Secret Clearance (In Scope) with a Periodic Review completed in the last 5 years 
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communications skills 
  • Experience with project management tools and presenting project data like status, risk and deliverables to key stakeholders 
  • Previous experience working IT projects 
  • PMP Certification 
  • Agile or SCRUM Certification 
  • Experience in or with the military 


Salary Range: $90,400 USD - $135,600 USD
Salary Range 2: $112,000 USD - $168,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
