Cryptographic Product Line Engineering Manager

Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a talented Cryptographic Product Line Engineering Manager to join our growing team! This position is in support of Northrop Grumman’s Sensing & Secured Solutions Operating Unit that is based out of Annapolis Junction Maryland. This position requires a TS/SCI clearance to begin working however the successful candidate should be able to obtain and maintain a polygraph.

Work Description:

The Cryptographic Product Line Engineering Manager will provide subject matter expertise in Type 1 or National Security System cryptographic solution modernization, End Cryptographic Unit (ECU) product development, ECU product management, and ECU product marketing.

Our modernized cryptographic products will be marketed and sold to acquiring US Federal government customers and internal NGC programs who need next-generation solutions that are quantum-resistant and provide an advantage by leveraging digital engineering and modular solutions. These solutions will decrease accreditation timelines and deliver Crypto as IT (continuous monitoring, faster updates for software & hardware, managed/updated/refreshed similarly to commodity IT assets).

Cryptographic Product Line Engineering Manager Responsibilities:

  • Provides subject matter expertise to a combined technical and marketing team that designs and develops new ECU systems, applications, and solutions for external customer's enterprise-wide cyber systems and networks.

  • Ensures product development and marketing activities are in line with an overall product lifecycle model that profitably delivers mission capabilities while satisfying evolving modernization requirements. Works in a dynamic and multi-faceted environment to evolve product line engineering practices that leverage core capabilities for feature defined products. Conducts analysis and develops models that illustrate trade-offs for product development efficiencies, certification timelines, lifecycle support costs and extensibility into new product feature sets.

  • May interface with external entities including law enforcement, intelligence and other government organizations and agencies.

Basic Qualifications:

  • An active TS/SCI with ability to obtain and maintain a polygraph
  • BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Systems Engineering, Business or related discipline with 20 years of end encryption units and cryptology OR Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Systems Engineering, Business or related discipline.
  • 18 years of work experience with end encryption units and cryptology
  • Knowledge in key management and post-quantum algorithms
  • Experience with high assurance devices


Salary Range: $196,000 USD - $295,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
