Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) is looking for you to join our team as a Systems Administrator/Principal Systems Administrator based out of Albuquerque, NM.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Work in an agile based team consisting of systems administrators, systems engineers, hardware engineers, and software engineers

  • Builds large, integrated hardware systems from bare metal including racking, cabling, powering, initializing systems

  • Supports the integration and test of hardware and software subsystems

  • Recommends and implements system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system; including installing, upgrading/patching, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration management.

  • Updates Windows WSUS servers for monthly patching and virus scanning

  • Creates and maintains administrator and user accounts through Windows Domain Controller

  • Creates and maintains system documentation

  • Performs tuning system performance,

  • Installs system wide software and allocates mass storage space

  • Performs backups and recovery as required

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college, with 6 years of related experience in systems administration; 4 years with a Master’s degree; 10 years of related experience in lieu of a degree

  • Experienced Linux System Administration for Red Hat/CentO with Red Hat Certified System Administrator or no less than 3 years’ experience

  • Windows Systems admin experience

  • Demonstrated understanding of and experience with virtualization technologies, including VMware within a virtualized environment.

  • Good communication skills

  • Must be a US citizen with an active TS/SCI  clearance (required to start)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with satellite ground station hardware system administration

  • Experience with docker containers

  • Experience with ansible or other configuration management tools

  • Experience with cloud providers or hypervisor experience

  • Security+ certification


Salary Range: $79,700 USD - $119,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
