Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector (NGDS) is seeking a Principal Network Mission Command Information System (MCIS) Server Analyst to join our growing team of diverse professionals supporting our III Corps program at Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas.  The Principal Network MCIS Server Analyst will be the Mission Command Information Systems (MCIS) Lead and perform information assurance technical (IAT) II duties for MCIS servers and systems for the Fort Hood, Texas (FHTX) Mission Training Complex.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise other MCIS technicians as they perform their daily duties

  • Build, maintain, configure, update, and apply Program Manager (PM) quarterly Information Assurance Vulnerability Managements (IAVMS) and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) on the Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS), Air Missile Defense Workstation (AMDWS), Battle Command Common Services (BCCS)/Tactical Server Infrastructure (TSI), Joint Capabilities Release (JCR)/Joint Battle Command – Platform (JBC-P), Joint Automated Deep Operations Coordination System (JADOCS), Command Post of the Future (CPOF)/Command Post Computing Environment (CPCE), Tactical Airspace Integration System (TAIS), Effects Management Tool (EMT), Aviation Mission Planning System (AMPS), Mission Command Staff Trainer (MCST), and Common Workstations (CWS) used for training

  • Update and maintain documentation for MCIS.  The employee will invoke warranties for MCIS systems

  • Work with PM Representatives on problems and issues

  • Assist the Individual Training Team (ITT) and Mission Command Training Team (MCTT) with setup of systems

  • Assist with simulation interconnections for ITT, MCTT, and Technical Support Team (TST).  The employee will assist Network Administrators (NAs) with BCCS/TSI switches

  • Build, maintain, configure, update (Internetwork Operating System (IOS) and patches), and apply PM quarterly IAVMS and STIGs based on PM requirements on the BCCS/TSI switch

  • Perform other responsibilities as required.  The employee will directly liaise the MTC, units, and other organizations during exercises.  The employee will troubleshoot hardware and software.  The employee will assist Spoke Sites (Bliss, Carson, Riley, Joint Base San Antonio, and Sill), which may include travel

  • Assist other System Administrators (SAs) with troubleshooting.  The employee will scan peripherals for viruses.  The employee will escort Department of Public Works (DPW) facility personnel in secure rooms for maintenance, repairs, and Computer Room Air Conditioner (CRAC) unit filter replacements

  • Work with Information System Security Manager (ISSM) and Information System Security Officer (ISSO) on U.S. Army Materiel Command (AMC), Installation Management Command (IMCOM), and Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security (DPTMS) projects.  The employee will work with the Security Manager, ISSM, and ISSO to ensure Command Cyber Readiness Inspection (CCRI) standards are followed

  • Partner with the Security Manager and Specialist to meet all physical security measures

Basic Qualifications:

  • One of the following:

    • High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 9 years of Computer Science (CS), Information Technology (IT), Cybersecurity & Information Assurance (IA), or related technical experience

    • Bachelor of Science degree in CS, IT, Cybersecurity & IA, or related discipline with a minimum of 5 years of CS, IT, Cybersecurity & IA, or related technical experience

    • Master of Science degree in CS, IT, Cybersecurity & IA, or related discipline with a minimum of 3 years of CS, IT, Cybersecurity & IA, or related technical experience

  • CompTIA Security+ CE certification

  • Must hold a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance 

  • Knowledge of Army mission command systems and servers

  • Must have administrative knowledge of Microsoft Server 2016/2019, Redhat Linux, Windows 10, and VMware

  • Ability to obtain computer environment certificate of training for all Operating Systems supported (this can be done on an approved Army site)

  • Must have knowledge of Active Directory, Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), and Domain Controller

  • Obtain Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certificate of training on an approved Army site

  • Ability to move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds around the worksite

  • Ability to work with little to no supervision on assigned tasks

  • Must be able to support shifts that occur outside normal working hours to support 24/7 operations during exercise events that may be more than 40 hours per week

  • Must be able to travel to CONUS locations as required (up to 10% of the time)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional CompTIA certifications Network + and A+

  • Vender certifications for Windows, Server, and Redhat Linux

Salary Range: $82,000 USD - $123,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
