Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking Engineer Network/Principal Engineer Network to join the System Test Team (STT).   This position is in Roy, UT and supports the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program.   Final grade level offered will be based on candidate level of experience.

What You’ll Get To Do:

The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman’s team supporting the Air Force’s Ground Based Strategic Deterrent program. Duties of this position include development, production and deployment of network equipment hardware, software, and systems for the system test team. The selected candidate will work in a dynamic people-focused environment where he/she will interact with users, customers, and other engineers.

Supports designs and plans for network communications systems. Drafts specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture. Drafts specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Supports testing of network design. Develops technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. Supports evaluation of new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Job Qualifications:

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Engineer Network: 2 Years with Bachelors in Science; 0 Years with Masters.
  • Principal Engineer Network: 5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD.
  • US Citizenship with ability to obtain Secret Clearance or higher
  • Strong Network Engineering background
  • Experience with communication systems using heterogeneous networks
  • Experience implementing government cyber security requirements, such as STIGs and RMF
  • Experience in Network Engineering for designing and implementing secure networks with Information Assurance requirements (Cyber Security for Information Assurance).
  • Network and Cyber Requirements Systems Engineering

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Routing with the following protocols:
    • Open Shortest Path First (OSPF)
    • Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP)
    • Intermediate System to Intermediate System (ISIS)
  • Relevant and applicable certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE)
  • Experience with Security Solutions for networking (HAIPE Encryptors • Cross Domain Solutions • IPSec • mGRE/DMVPN, RADIUS)
  • Experience with Cisco Routers/Switches/Firewalls, Open Source Routing (Quagga/FRR)
  • Multicast IGMP • PIM • Quality of Service • DSCP/TOS • VRFs
  • Network Modeling/Prototype Virtualization • CML/VIRL/GNS34
  • NetOps/NOC design integrated with program CyberOps
  • Extensive experience in Tactical Networks including Link16, CDL, TTNT, MADL to lead technology design in Cyber Security Information Assurance and DevSecOps process
  • Extensive experience in Commercial Networks (cellular & computer networks infrastructure, Cloud-based solutions)
  • Extensive experience in Software Defined Networking; Network Function Virtualization; Network Services including DNS, VoIP, Network Management Tools
  • Expert in Security Architecture design and Vulnerability Assessment for critical network infrastructure
  • Experience with working with government/military personnel
  • Network Analysis to define network performance & resiliency requirement
  • Cloud-based network solutions
  • Experience with Model-Based Engineering Tools & Agile Development process

Salary Range: $66,600 USD - $123,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
