Northrop Grumman is seeking an International Trade Compliance Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals!

This role can be supported from Falls Church, VA or Mclean, VA or Linthicum, MD - a hybrid schedule of work from home and work on site is available (this role is not fully virtual).

The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman’s International Trade Compliance (ITC) organization, working to ensure compliance with export laws that enhance foreign policy and protect national security.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develops and manages comprehensive internal export and import controls to ensure compliance with US and foreign regulations in the conduct of supply chain and other business activities.
  • Serves as International Trade Compliance (ITC) Digital Transformation Lead, coordinating automation of ITC related forms and processes.
  • Understands business/operational processes for assuring trade compliance through gate reviews for technical data, foreign travel, foreign visits, export and import shipments, and reviews of NG managed on-prem and cloud-based applications and services. 
  • Maintains applicable trade compliance records in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Supports law department in investigating and resolving compliance problems, questions, or complaints.
  • Maintains training and audit assessment programs to ensure implementation and effectiveness of internal controls.
  • Maintains awareness of changing export control laws and regulations and provides analysis regarding applicability and impact to company products and technologies, as well as existing company export policies and procedures.
  • Collaborates with peers and/or management regarding presentations on ITC efforts and initiatives for a variety of cross-sector forums.
  • Establishes and maintains relations with NG affiliate personnel on ITC matters impacting multiple regions.
  • Exercises good judgement to seek management support and guidance as needed, including collaborating on decisions that have the potential to be high visibility or impact.
  • As an integral member of ITC, may perform other duties on an ad hoc basis as assigned by Manager, to include leading various NG process improvement projects.

Basic Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills and abilities listed below:

  • Bachelor's degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience, or 1 years of relevant experience with a master's degree
  • Ability to regularly work on site in Falls Church, VA or McLean, VA or Linthicum, MD
  • U.S. citizen with ability to obtain and a Department of Defense (DOD) Secret Security Clearance
  • Working knowledge of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Demonstrate highly collaborative work style, success in resolving difficult situations and effective communication with all levels of stakeholders
  • Demonstrate strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Familiarity with drafting and submitting export licenses and agreements, interpreting and providing guidance on US ITAR and EAR regulations for the licensing of commodities, technologies and defense services, including the use of U.S. Government systems D-Trade and SNAP-R
  • Familiarity with ITAR exemptions and EAR exceptions for export transactions
  • Experience providing training to export licensing personnel and functional requesters
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products
  • Possesses the ability to work successfully in cross-functional teams
     

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

  • Active secret clearance
  • Master's degree or MBA

This position reports to Falls Church, VA, USA, however, you are able to work from any of the additional 2 locations listed above.


Salary Range: $67,000 USD - $105,200 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
