Northrop Grumman’s Law Department is seeking a Corporate Counsel for its litigation group at the Company’s headquarters in Falls Church, Virginia. The Corporate Counsel will focus on disputes involving the Company’s government contracts, including claims and REAs, bid protests, and False Claims Act matters.  The Corporate Counsel also may work on other types of disputes, such as commercial, intellectual property, environmental, employment, ERISA and insurance matters.

 Specific responsibilities include: 

  • Working with and managing external legal support handling disputes 
  • Developing and implementing legal strategies and managing the Company’s actions regarding disputes 
  • Collaborating with other internal legal support in providing legal advice to the Company 
  • Briefing senior management on disputes or matters involving a significant legal exposure or risk to the Company 
  • Developing and managing legal budgets


 

Job Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree
  • A member of the Virginia Bar, through testing or comity or, in lieu of licensure, ability to obtain Virginia corporate counsel certificate 
  • At least 10 years of litigation experience 
  • Experience litigating government contract matters
  • Proven litigation experience and strong litigation strategist 
  • Excellent written and oral communications , analytical, interpersonal, organizational, risk assessment and negotiation skills 
  • Strong work ethic and collaborative approach 
  • Highest standards of integrity 
  • Ability to balance multiple, competing priorities 
  • Ability to obtain and hold a U.S. DoD security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting clients in the defense and/or intelligence communities 
  • Experience litigating on behalf of or against the federal government 

Salary Range: $216,400 USD - $311,100 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
