Northrop Grumman’s Defense Systems sector is currently seeking a Technical Team Supervisor to support on-site at our Rocket Center, West Virginia location.
Rocket Center, WV is located along the North Branch Potomac River in Mineral County, West Virginia and is home to the Allegany Ballistics Laboratory (ABL), a government installation operated by Northrop Grumman. Known for its scenic mountain landscapes, rolling hills and state parks, the region offers a multitude of outdoor recreational opportunities to include hiking, mountain biking, skiing, fishing, hunting and whitewater rafting. The TTS(Technical Team Supervisor) is responsible to ensure proper execution of daily operations in a test environment, working with energetic materials and/or hardware, to meet organizational objectives. The TTS is responsible to work with Engineering, Quality, Operations, Program Management, Safety and external customers to identify and make recommendations to solve technical issues. This position will be dedicated to the Energetics Testing Team reporting to the Test Engineering Manager of the Research Operations and Energetic Characterization Group.
Job Duties:
Handle energetics on a daily basis
Maintain energetic inventories
Daily scheduling of technicians
Development and revisions of policies and procedures
Participate in technician reviews, hiring, and recognition decisions
Building ownership including maintenance, building PMs and facility management, and overall building cleanliness
Provide input to management on daily operations and processes
Cover off shift operations, on call, and weekend work
Drive a culture of safety first and continuous improvement
Basic Qualifications:
This role places a strong emphasis on skills and experience. We will consider candidates who meet one of the following criteria: a high school diploma or GED with a minimum of 8 years' experience preferably in a manufacturing facility or a closely related field
Proven ability to communicate with multiple function groups across Northrop Grumman
Excellent written communication and presentation skills
Ability to drive process improvement in a dynamic environment
Excellent time and organizational management
Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and develop technicians
US Citizenship required
Preferred Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree plus 3-5 years of experience in an energetics area or 8+ years of working in an energetics area
Experience in an energetics testing, laboratory, and/or manufacturing environment
Familiarity with mechanical property testing and burn rate analysis of energetics/materials
Working knowledge of Solumina planning and data entry
Familiarity with maintenance permitting and workorder submission in Dispatch
Knowledge of best practices with material processing and preparation
Data analysis and entry into LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System)
