Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal Logistics Planner for our Transport Contractor Logistics Support program. The Logistics Planner will provide material control and spare analysis, supply chain support obsolescence and risk assessment issues. This position manages Northrop Grumman and Government’s Equipment and supply to field sites and works hand-in-hand with engineering, production, procurement, and the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer).

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Logistics Planner to join our team supporting our Transport CLS program. The position is based at a facility in Huntsville, AL.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Analyze technical data and reports to determine spares and support equipment provisioning requirements.
  • Review spare and equipment depletion analysis to provide specific recommendations for spare/repair parts and support equipment positioning.
  • Forecast and manage budget systems as requested.
  • Consistently monitor inventory and material allocations for accuracy.
  • Generate inventory reports on stock usage, location changes, and core tracking; including Return Material Authorizations (RMA) Identify and manage component hardware and software configurations.
  • Initiate material procurement and manage procurement processing.
  • Monitor equipment for DMSMS/Obsolescence issues.
  • Coordinate processing of Jurisdiction Classification Requests (JCR) for import/export of equipment IAW United States Munitions List (USML) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
  • Manage and control the asset location and allocation of customer inventories and other related Contractor Acquired Property (CAP) and Government Furnished Equipment (GFE).
  • Maintains property accountability records and determines condition and arranges disposal of surplus or obsolete material or equipment.
  • Conduct internal and external property assessments and analyze results for financial and operational purposes; provide guidance on contracts and regulations pertaining to property life-cycle management.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • 6 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's Degree OR 10 years in lieu of degree.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Good communication and analytical skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and present data and analysis results to leadership and teammates
  • Secret Clearance not required to start. Must be able to meet the DoD requirements to obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience working with Aircraft Maintenance and Parts Manuals. 
  • Experience procuring goods and services for aircraft fleet maintenance. 
  • DOD customer experience      
  • Logistics experience with USAF DoD systems
  • Knowledge and understanding of Government and Contractor Property program in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Department of Defense Acquisition Regulations (DFARS) Knowledge of Operating Government systems.

Salary Range: $71,400 USD - $107,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
