Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is currently seeking a Principal Logistics Planner for a new and exciting effort located in Palmdale, CA.

Responsibilities:

Analyzes technical data and reports to determine spares and support equipment provisioning requirements. Reviews site survey results and letters of offer and acceptance and formulates specific recommendations for spare/repair parts and support equipment. Manages and controls the asset position of customer inventories. May originate support plans for offer to potential customers and provide technical assistance to existing customer personnel. May forecast and manage budget system.

Candidate will function as a subject matter expert to support technical data certification/verification activities. Will perform research, analysis, and interface with engineering teams to expand relevant systems knowledge, review technical data readiness for certification events, and assist with capturing user comments/changes for incorporation. Candidate is expected to augment technical writing team as needed. May attend daily/weekly meetings to determine technical data certification schedule versus testing/maintenance schedules.

Candidate will work alongside U.S. Government and contractor personnel in Palmdale, CA and at Edwards AFB ; position will be based in Palmdale, CA. Must be available and able to work second shift. Occasional weekend work may be required. Telework is not available for this position.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Must have 7 years of relevant experience. Will consider 3 Years with Bachelors; 1 Year with Masters.
  • Understanding and experience in all facets of aircraft and support equipment operations.
  • Must have an in-scope, active DoD Secret Clearance with background investigation completed within last five years; with ability to maintain. Clearance required to start.
  • Ability to obtain Program Access within 365 days of submission. Program Access required to start.
  • Familiar with Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs).
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Able to collaborate in a team environment and/or work alone with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to change physical locations based upon need (including physical ability to travel).
  • Able to work in both external and internal environmental conditions.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 8 years of flight line aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Familiar with process development and implementation.
  • Experience in utilizing the USAF Maintenance Manual change process.
  • Familiar with technical data certification/verification processes.
  • Ability to understand system description documents.
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Experience with CPLM.
  • Experience using 3D CAD modeling programs to read and interpret engineering data.
  • Experience with writing/publishing in XML.
  • Understanding of S1000D international Specification for Technical Publications.

Salary Range: $63,800 USD - $95,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
