Northrop Grumman Aeronautics System sector is seeking a hands-on Line Maintenance Technician 3 to join the Facilities Maintenance team located on site in Palmdale, CA. The candidate will support the repair, calibration, and preventive maintenance of various manufacturing equipment and overhead crane systems within the Palmdale site to ensure production continues to run with as few interruptions due to equipment malfunctions as possible.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Performs diagnostics and troubleshooting on various pieces of electro-mechanical, Overhead cranes, Stacker cranes, Jib cranes, and Lifting devices for production and infrastructure manufacturing equipment. including but not limited to  CNCs, autoclaves, and vacuum pumps
  • Performs preventative maintenance on equipment either on a set schedule or as needed
  • Constantly seek for opportunities for cost savings, efficiency, quality, and equipment reliability improvement and take initiatives to implement it
  • Develop enhanced preventive maintenance plans and detail writing procedures
  • Update and maintain accurate inventory of parts used to maintain and repair equipment
  • Performs calibration on equipment on a set schedule
  • Provide daily status updates to the process engineers and manufacturing management
  • Corrects malfunctions by making adjustments or replacing parts or components as directed
  • Uses hand and small power tools, and various measuring and testing devices in performing job duties
  • May be required to work with hazardous materials, wear safety equipment and follow strict safety rules and regulations
  • Work with internal supply chain team and external vendors to order parts and coordinate external vendor services as needed

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience
  • Experience disassembling complex manufacturing process and test equipment to troubleshoot and repair and carefully reassemble it back together
  • Must be comfortable using computers and Microsoft office products such as Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Familiar with production, manufacturing, overhead cranes and other types of lifting devices
  • Must obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance or higher
  • Must be able to work and operate a Boomlift or Scissor lift and work at elevated heights

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified on overhead lifting devices and other types of crane systems
  • Experience repairing or calibrating single axis, two axis, or three axis Rate Tables
  • Strong proven ability to quickly analyze, isolate, troubleshoot, and mitigate problems
  • Experience developing preventive maintenance plan and procedure
  • Knowledge and experience in Aerospace manufacturing environments and Maximo CMMS

Salary Range: $56,600 USD - $94,300 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
