Job Description

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Manager Tool Die Making 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Manufacturing and Production organization. This leadership role is located in Palmdale, CA.

The Manager Tool Die Making 2 will be responsible for supervising employees involved in the fabrication of tools, building of jigs and fixtures, template and pattern making, and model building, and machine production fly-away hardware. In this role, the chosen candidate will support long-range plans and strategies to provide the most affordable Tooling products and services in the industry which will include the following responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintains tooling schedule and milestones to meet program master schedule objectives 
  • Provide direction for employees utilizing management guidelines and general policies for with direct supervision of up to 15 employees in a manufacturing environment 
  • The manager will be responsible for the supporting long-range plans and strategies to provide the most affordable Tooling products and services in the industry. 
  • Identify and develop staffing/skills requirements, forecasts, and training plans 
  • Manager will have Cost Account Manager (CAM) responsibility to program activities and will ensure compliance to EVMS for all direct & indirect budgets. 
  • Delivering presentations to customers, executive management, and other program stakeholders 
  • Encourages and provides direction for career development of employees, including educational options for highly motivated employees. 
  • Responsible to collaborate with other Aeronautics Systems Sector Tooling Management to develop consistent process and procedures to help drive affordability and insure the deployment of best practices across the sector

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree AND 5 years of related professional/military experience in one or more areas: aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing, maintenance or related environment OR a Master's Degree AND 3 years; of related professional/ military experience in one or more areas: aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing, maintenance or related environment OR a High School Diploma AND 9 years of related professional/military experience in one or more areas: aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing, maintenance or related environment
  • Must have 2 years of prior management/leadership experience.
  • Ability to obtain and active DoD Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain PAR (Special Program Access)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree 
  • Experience managing machine or fabrication shop.
  • Experienced machine backgrou
  • Leadership experience in aerospace or a related industry 
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint) and the ability to effectively communicate with various levels of leadership

Salary Range: $122,200 USD - $183,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
