Our San Diego, CA location is seeking a Production Planner 1 for 1st shift to join our team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Releases and completes manufacturing work orders in ERP system for production.
  • Supports program planner/team with status of work in process (WIP) and evaluates material and tooling requirements throughout the life of the program.
  • Moves WIP to and from process centers and expedites as needed.
  • Kits parts and tools per Bill of Material and communicates constraints to program team.
  • Performs material cycle counts, assists with program close out and disposition.
  • Attends daily/weekly meetings to support program and production needs.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 0 - 2 years of recent production control planning and scheduling experience within an aerospace manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Perform physical requirements of the position: using pallet jack or other equipment to move parts weighing up to 45/50 lbs., as required.
  • US Citizenship required.
  • Must be able to walk or stand for extended periods of time as needed

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with ERP/MRP Systems (Costpoint a plus)
  • Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Word, Visio and PowerPoint skills a must.
  • Ability to share own expertise with others effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Manufacturing, Operations and/or Program Management experience highly desired.
  • Reasonable knowledge of manufacturing, inventory, production, procurement and quality basics, engineering flows and ability to read technical data i.e., blue prints, schematics and other documents.
  • Demonstrates understanding and is able to apply continuous improvement terminology/tools: PES, LEAN, Six Sigma principles/DFSS/Lean design principles, Value Stream, and Kaizen.
  • Self-directed, proactive.

Salary Range: $51,800 USD - $86,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
