The General Manufacturing Manager 2 is responsible for the direct supervision of employees and processes in a manufacturing environment. The Manager provides direction to employees utilizing management guidelines and general policies. Overall responsibilities include: driving employee efficiency, meeting product cost and schedule targets, managing the area to produce quality products, and engaging employees to achieve their highest potential.

The Manager is responsible for the direct supervision of approximately 25 represented (union) employees and processes in a Manufacturing environment.

What You’ll get to Do:

The General Manufacturing Manager 2 is expected to work independently across organizations; manage the use of consumables to achieve budget targets; assign and manage represented EMS Operators and/or M&P Specialists to maximize efficiency and achieve target productive yields; implement our process improvements to improve affordability, quality, and schedule; and perform required SAP/MES transactions to manage Operator and/or M&P Specialist.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing direction to employees utilizing management guidelines and general policies

• Driving employee efficiency

• Meeting product cost and schedule targets

• Managing the area to produce quality products

• Engaging employees to achieve their highest potential

• Implementing process improvements to improve affordability, quality, and schedule.

• Performing required SAP/MES transactions

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated leadership skills and ability, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
 

Basic Qualifications M2:

• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience; Master’s Degree with 3 years of experience; PhD with 1 years of experience (Note, 8+ years of work experience may be considered in lieu of degree).

• Experience working with SAP

• Lean six sigma, world class manufacturing or similar continuous improvement experience

• At least 2+ years of experience in management or leadership of people and/or processes

• At least 5+ years of experience in a Manufacturing, Production, Materials, MRP, or Production Control or Engineering environment.

• Experience leading a cross-functional team

• US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a US Secret Level Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in warehousing, logistics or supply chain operations

• Self-Motivated Individual with strong analytical, organizational, communication, interpersonal, and PC computer skills

• Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively present to upper management

• Experience working in a union represented environment

Salary Range: $106,000 USD - $159,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
