Northrop Grumman, Mission Systems is seeking a Logistics Planner for the Emerging Capabilities Development division. The position is located at the Advanced Technology Lab (ATL) in Linthicum, MD where we design, manufacture, and test semiconductor products for internal production and emerging programs. The ideal candidate must be a strong team participant, have excellent communication skills, be resourceful and multi-talented. A strong understanding of semiconductor technology and microelectronic process engineering is a plus but not required.

The successful candidate will be able to build relationships with the ATL functional managers, exempt and -non-exempt personnel to understand and develop solutions for the ATL Foundry. The candidate will support Materials Management, Program and Non-Program projects for the ATL Foundry. The candidate may be tasked with other activities that support the Systems Infrastructure and Materials organization.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes technical data and reports to determine spares and support equipment provisioning requirements.
  • Prepare gap analysis for spare parts
  • Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed.
  • Manages and controls the asset position of customer inventories.
  • Manage and controls Order -Portal and Wait Part Tracker
  • Responsible for working with other planners, engineers, and program representatives to forecast material costs. 
  • Responsible for the assessment of supply resources; aggregates and prioritizes demand requirements; plans inventory, distribution requirements, production, material and rough-cut capacity for all products.
  • Communicate with suppliers for lead times, and delivery times.
  • Actively resolves and communicates and works to resolve issues
  • Receives/reviews requirements for standard and non-standard parts
  • Analyzes lead times and identifies critical path procurements.

Basic Qualifications for Logistics Planner:  

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Business or Related Field with 3 years related experience. 1 Year with Masters (an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree)
  • Manage scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, and calibrations. 
  • Ability to comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutions. 
  • Can read and interpret CAD models, engineering documents, COTS manuals, etc. 
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office programs. 
  • Able to collaborate in a team environment. 
  • Able to work alone, with minimal supervision.  
  • Experience with public speaking. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must have experience managing multiple tasks and coordinating with the appropriate department.
  • Must have the ability to interface/communicate with multiple departments such as engineering and production.
  • Must be able to obtain Secret clearance. US Citizenship required for this.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Planning/scheduling, process development, quality, or production experience in aerospace, military, manufacturing and/or maintenance environment 
  •  Foundry Experience is a plus
  • Creating procedures or purchase requisitions

Salary Range: $60,900 USD - $91,300 USD
Salary Range 2: $75,000 USD - $112,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
