An organization within Northrop Grumman Space Systems’ Payload and Ground Systems (PGS) division, Cutting Edge Optronics is a leading provider of high-power laser diode arrays, high power pump modules and diode-pumped solid-state (DPSS) lasers. We are a vertically integrated manufacturer capable of supplying unmounted diode bars, packaged laser diodes, DPSS modules, laser diode drivers and complete DPSS laser systems. Our diode laser-based products have become industry standards and are used in a wide variety of commercial and military applications.

CEO seeks a highly motivated, Materials Manager with strong team skills, and supervisory abilities. This position requires managing current established processes while working to define and implement improvements required to meet the future needs of a significant ramp up in production. This position will also manage the current warehouse structure and personnel. The chosen candidate will display a passion for manufacturing results while highly focused on team-oriented execution.

Responsibilities 

  • Manage a group of approximately 4 hourly employees
  • Accountability for ensuring all production material demands are identified, scheduled and routed for order through the purchasing function
  • Manage the current warehouse function and ensure current processes are used to properly ship and receive products and materials as required while pursuing continuous improvement efforts where applicable
  • Work closely with company-wide functions (Quality, Safety, Engineering, Customer Service, Finance, Procurement, Senior Management, etc.) to ensure all goals of manufacturing are accomplished with a focus on teamwork, collaboration, and regulatory compliance
  • Coordinate employee training and development activities for direct reports
  • Coordinate activities with other managers

Basic Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of applicable experience or 9 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Experience with material and production scheduling in a fast pace, high volume manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated experience with a relevant ERP system for manufacturing

Preferred Qualifications  

  • Working knowledge of Visual Manufacturing 
  • Experience with manufacturing in Diode Pump Solid State Laser Industry

Salary Range: $84,200 USD - $126,200 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
