Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Staff Manufacturing Analyst for the Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) division Engineering and Manufacturing team.  This leadership role will be located in Roy, UT and will provide enabling support for all business areas within the SDS portfolio.  Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities, and associated infrastructure.

What You’ll Get To Do: 

This selected candidate supports manufacturing engineering, production, business, and other processes in a team-based manufacturing environment. Performs activities in a variety of cross-functional areas including production planning and control, total quality management, systems, manufacturing, material management, and process reengineering. The selected candidate may facilitate training in core systems and skill areas to teams and peers and interact with internal and external customers with respect to product planning, problem resolution, and process improvement. Applicants are generally experienced in one or more areas of manufacturing operations. This person will also develop solutions to problems of unusual complexity which require a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and innovativeness. Challenges are frequently unique, and solutions may serve as precedent for future decisions. Works under consultative direction toward long-range goals and objectives. Assignments are often self-initiated with considerable latitude for independent judgment. Virtually self-supervisory. Serves as prime consultant and external spokesperson for the organization on highly significant matters relating to policies, programs, capabilities, and long-range goals and objectives. Applicant must lead by example and be able to work well in a team environment across many disciplines. 

Duties Include:

  • Develop, maintain, teach, and enforce process and procedures for Manufacturing Engineering and Production in core tools, PLM/ERR/MES systems. 

  • Coordination with all teams to utilize SAP Material Resource Planning (MRP) effectively. 

  • Enforce core system best practices to enable effective down stream use. 

  • Test CPLM/SAP/MES when new development is released, and to troubleshoot issues programs are seeing. 

  • Part of a team of SAP Subject Matter Experts through testing of the ERP System and its integrations with other systems.

  • Support implementation of new Business Processes related to SAP and its integrated systems.

  • Evaluate current process and procedures to enhance and automate. 

  • Develop Level 1 support team with in the functional home rooms and IPTs.

  • Create training and desktop instructions for best practices. 

  • Assist in Proposal activity of new task orders and programs to utilize Production Systems. 

  • Assist in stand up of new programs and task orders when using SDS Production System Architecture

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.  

 

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree with 15+ years of relevant work experience; Master's Degree with 13+ years of relevant work experience

  • Must have US Citizenship with an Active DoD Secret Security Clearance

  • Experience working in a digital manufacturing environment using core systems PLM/ERP/MES, specifically SAP as an ERP, is a must. 

  • Strong background with SAP Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Grouping, Pegging, and Distribution (GPD), Production Orders, Purchase Orders (GPD), and Inventory Functionality

  • Demonstrated experience with training and developing SAP Subject Matter Experts in new and existing functionality.

  • Monitor SAP to ensure it is functioning correctly.

  • Troubleshoot issues within SAP and connected systems and work to timely resolution

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Must be detail oriented, self starter, organized, and demonstrate a high sense of urgency

 

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
  • Experience in Teamcenter Manufacturing (TcMfg)

  • Experience in CPLM

  • Experience in SmartMES

  • Experience in a manufacturing setting

  • Experience with database analysis

  • Experience in the creation of test plans

  • Experience in the performance of system integration testing

  •  Experience writing functional specifications

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams


Salary Range: $114,600 USD - $172,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
