Northrop Mission Systems is look for a Tool Crib Attendant 1 located in Charlottesville, Virginia. The successful candidate will possess knowledge of and experience with machining capabilities, inventory management, and vendor engagement.  The Tool Crib Attendant will interface with numerous departments while directly supporting the machine shop.  Working at Northrop Grumman means making a direct contribution to mission projects that keep our homeland safe, expanding the boundaries of possibility, and reshaping the world we live in.

Job Description:

Receives, stores, and issues tools, machine tool fixtures, dies, and measuring devices. Maintains records of tools issued to employees; takes periodic inventory and requisitions stock as needed; reports damaged, worn out, or missing equipment using computers to enter transactions, validate information and maintain database. Cleans, oils, and performs repairs and PM maintenance on equipment; disposes of surplus or obsolete equipment in accordance with established procedure. Ensures that measuring devices are periodically calibrated.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain tool crib inventory accuracy.
  • Track and document purchases and invoices.
  • Engage with vendors for tooling purchases and application options.
  • Preset tools and kit jobs per work order and setup documentation.
  • Repair machining equipment.
  • Cycle and track calibrated tooling.
  • Perform equipment PMs, must be agile with work schedule to accommodate shop uptime.
  • Actively implements lean initiatives by identifying and providing recommendations on areas for improvement, effectively applying lean concepts and tools in work area.
  • Observes all company policies and procedures, including safety rules, and maintains a clean and orderly work area.
  • Performs other related responsibilities as requested.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 1 year of additional education.
  • Reads and follows blueprints, specifications, and verbal instructions.
  • Has working knowledge of machine shop mathematics, may include trigonometry.
  • Knowledge of lean initiatives.
  • Demonstrates effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as the ability to work in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Inventory management
  • Purchasing experience
  • Experience maintaining machinery
  • Experience with Model Based Engineering
  • Knowledge of GD&T standards
  • Microsoft Office Suite

Salary Range: $31,700 USD - $52,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
