Production Engineering is part of Northrop's Baltimore Mechanical Technology and Design Services (MT&DS) organization and provides technical support to the Mechanical Technology and Test Design groups.  Support is also provided to other Division sites as needed. The Production Engineering group is responsible for supporting new Projects and Programs as they transition out of the Design Phase into the hardware build stage.  This support continues thru production and post-production support. This support includes ISE Parts List creation, New Part Requests using CMR, New Drawing Releases using DRR, Revisions to released designs (RNs), CCB support, shop floor problem resolution, and DMS issue resolution. Production Engineering provides Mechanical Design help as needed for Team Center / NX Designs.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

The Manager of Production Engineering will lead the technical team as they perform the above tasks as well as work with the other managers in the MTDS organization to help Programs meet drawing release dates, manage updates to those designs, resolve DMS issues and support of any other requests that come up.  The role will also include supporting the transition of the remaining Mission PLM processes, Engineering Change (EC) and Engineering Bill of Materials (E-BOM) in the near term.  Proposal writing and other program support activities will also be required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires degree in a STEM field with 9+ years of experience with a Bachelor's, 7+ years experience with a Masters, and 2+ years of experience with a PhD. Highly relevant experience may substitute for years of experience.
  • Experience with the ISE and CADSTAR systems
  • Experience with the BWI drawing and RN processes
  • US Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Secret US Security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Team Center and NX
  • Experience with the new Mission PLM Processes, including DRR, CMR, EC and EBOM
  • Experience with DMS resolution process
  • Experience with Proposal writing
  • Current Security clearance

Salary Range: $107,000 USD - $160,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
