Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for an Inspector 3 to support the Inspection team located in Apopka, FL.
The selected candidate will perform in-process and final inspections on electro-mechanical, electro-optical, and opto-mechanical parts, assemblies, and/or subassemblies in accordance with applicable internal and external standards. The Inspector must have the ability to read/interpret engineering drawings and specifications and contractual language. The candidate must have experience using various inspection tools, such as micrometers and calipers. Experience of applicable industry standards like IPC-A-610 or equivalent is highly desired. The ideal candidate will have experience performing inspections in the manufacturing of electro-mechanical, electro-optical, and/or opto-mechanical with proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Clearly, accurately, and concisely communicate potential defects to quality engineers for disposition.
- Identify trending defects not limited to a single product or program.
- Inspects, verifies, and validates parts and assemblies of mechanical, electrical, optical, and structural components or systems to meet engineering and program requirements.
- Work after rework, adjustment, or repair.
- Monitors and verifies that product quality is in accordance with engineering drawings, work instructions, and other control procedures.
- Reads and interprets blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.
- Maintains necessary inspection documentation, writes inspection reports, and enters inspection data and defect information into a computer database.
- Frequently interfaces with internal teams across the organization and external customers and contacts.
- Participates in team activities and provides expertise and guidance for effective problem resolution.
- Audits processes and activities in accordance with documented procedures.
Basic Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
- High school diploma and 4+ years of relevant electro-mechanical or electro-optical and/or opto-mechanical inspection experience.
- 6 years of experience working with performance & inspection documents.
- Experience in reading drawings, manufacturing, and test documentation.
- Experience with AS9100 or ISO9001 Quality Management System.
- Ability to obtain & maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
- US Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to cross-train in multiple work centers
- Competent cross-functional communication and interaction.
