Northrop Grumman is in need of an Inspector 4 to work at its Elkton, Maryland facility.
Northrop Grumman Propulsion Systems and Controls (PS&C) facility in Elkton, Maryland began solid-propellant rocket operations in 1948. Today, the Elkton PS&C facility designs, develops, and produces solid-propellant propulsion and ordnance systems in programs professionally managed for a wide variety of Government and commercial customers. The facility also serves as the hub for offsite engineering and test facilities in Ronkonkoma, NY and Palm Beach Gardens, FL.
Elkton, Maryland is located on the Upper Chesapeake Bay, midway between Philadelphia and Baltimore. Job Description:
Northrop Grumman is in need of an to work at its Elkton, Maryland facility.
Job duties:
Performs basic programming of Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) part programs utilizing PC-DMIS software. Operates Coordinate Measuring Machine and capable of troubleshooting CMM software and hardware issues. Uses process control documents, inspection plans, and prescribed specifications to visually and dimensionally inspect in-process and completed components, subassemblies and assemblies. Uses various measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, thickness gauges, height gauges, and shore A & D hardness gauges. Works from process documents, customer specifications, drawing or inspection instructions and checklists. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Performs line inspections after critical operations to ensure all materials, components, and/or assemblies are acceptable.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 6 years of experience and/or additional education or combination
- Must be a US citizen
- Manual inspection experience
- GD&T experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- CMM programming experience
This position falls under a Federal Explosives License issued by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for this location. Candidates hired into this role will be required to complete and submit an Employee Possessor Questionnaire to ATF for approval to be a possessor.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
