An organization within Northrop Grumman’s Payload and Ground Systems (PGS) division, Cutting Edge Optronics is a leading provider of high-power laser diode arrays, high power pump modules and diode-pumped solid-state (DPSS) lasers. We are a vertically integrated manufacturer capable of supplying unmounted diode bars, packaged laser diodes, DPSS modules, laser diode drivers and complete DPSS laser systems. Our diode laser-based products have become industry standards and are used in a wide variety of commercial and military applications.

The Quality Systems Assistant 2 is responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to Quality Control to assure the quality and integrity of incoming products and the maintenance and calibration of monitoring and measuring devices.

 

Key Responsibilities:

   Verifies/Inspects Quality of mechanical/electronic parts/assemblies from suppliers

   Interacts with suppliers to resolve quality issues quickly

   Documents and maintains Quality and Calibration records

   Utilizes measurement equipment and coordinates/performs Calibration of equipment

   Supports generation of monthly KPI data

   Identifies and solutions for improvements in quality, productivity, product cost, and safety

   Communicates non-conforming Quality issues with Purchasing, Engineering, and Suppliers

   Coordinates Supplier Corrective Actions with suppliers

   Models/follows Safety practices and policies

   Document and communicate non-conformances to suppliers

   May perform inspections across various stages of production

   Performs calibration and recordkeeping activities

   Coordinates all calibrations from outside sources

 

Minimum Qualifications and Education:

  High school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of additional education and/or related experience 

  2 years previous experience in a related area with extensive knowledge of quality inspection and calibration processes and procedures

  Specific vision abilities required by this job include concentrated attention, close vision, far vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to bring object into sharp focus

  Proficient in the use of SPC

  Excellent prioritization, interpersonal, organizational, and multitasking skills

Preferred Skills/Education:

   ASQ Certified C.M.I, C.Q.T., C.Q.A. and CIT IPC A 610 and 620 (CIS) a PLUS but not required

   Must possess the ability to read blueprints and schematic diagrams

   High level of accuracy and attention to detail

   Excellent analytical/problem solving, troubleshooting and teamwork skills

   Good oral and written communication skills are required

   Proficient in the use of measuring devices such as CMM, torque analyzers, pressure calibrators, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, optical comparator, etc.  

   Experience with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems

   Prior internal auditing experience

   Proficient in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn various databases and systems in performance of job duties.

Salary Range: $43,200 USD - $72,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
