This Quality Manager will be responsible for managing the Integration and Test Quality Inspectors site functions.  This leader will be responsible for executing, monitoring and reporting on the health and quality of products and services provided by the team. The qualified candidate must have demonstrated success leading teams and have unwavering ethics and values.  The candidate must have strong communication skills, be effective working across functional teams and be able to integrate, engage and lead a team of inspectors to perform at a top level.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of end-to-end manufacturing, integration and test of satellites. 

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day to day activities of the inspectors
  • Help inspectors resolve issues that arise during the inspection of products
  • Monitor data and develop metrics relating to work center performance
  • Properly coordinate resource allocation to ensure Program needs are met
  • Manage inspector clearance requirements based on assignments
  • Maintain oversight for review and approval of applicable procedures and process specifications related to the work center activities
  • Ensure throughput of Quality Assurance team is maximized without sacrificing reliability of the product
  • Work with functional management to ensure budgets are appropriately established and maintained
  • Encourage and support Quality Assurance team in review of inspection processes
  • Drive process improvement ideas to implementation phase
  • Ensure team has the necessary Standard Practice training and OJT to perform their job functions efficiently and reliably
  • Lead inspection efforts in real-time alongside employees to ensure cycle time of products in the inspection queue is minimized
  • Actively support inspection efforts to clear backlogs and minimize inspection queues
  • Ensure quality database(s) is updated and maintained appropriately to properly track inspection efforts, equipment usage, and calibration/certification information
  • Monitor non-conformance data to ensure defect containment and drive RCCA to reduce the cost-of-poor-quality

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited 4-year institution or equivalent work experience
  • U.S. citizen
  • Ability to obtain Top Secret /SCI clearance
  • Able to read and inspect to engineering documentation
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a member of Quality/Flight Assurance team (in technical function) or previous experience supervising/leading team of employees in technical job function
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft applications (Word and Excel) and willingness to learn new computer programs/applications
  • Technical writing skills

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance
  • Working knowledge of TIPQA
  • Working knowledge of Costpoint and Costpoint MES
  • Working knowledge of Windchill
  • Knowledge in how to read electrical schematics and wire lists
  • Knowledge base in Lean Manufacturing Principles and/or Six Sigma Principles
  • Previous experience managing budgets and personnel allocation for company or team


Salary Range: $85,400 USD - $128,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
