An organization within Northrop Grumman Space Systems' Payload and Ground Systems (PGS) division, the Strategic Forge Programs (SFP) Business Unit (BU) seeks a Mission Assurance Manager to join our diverse team of professionals.

The Mission Assurance Manager will lead a team responsible for ensuring the proper implementation of mission assurance and quality principles and processes for the SFP BU at our Azusa, CA and Boulder, CO locations. Functional responsibilities include Program Mission Assurance; Software Assurance and Quality Assurance.

This position will be located at the SFP BU facility in Azusa, CA.

Job Description

Defines and monitors mission assurance program specifications and processes to ensure mission success of programs across SFP. Performs or assures quality, risk management, safety, reliability and maintainability of program achievements, subcontractors, and suppliers in accordance with contractual requirements. Assesses program performance and risks, and determines resources to ensure mission assurance.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university or applicable experience
  • Nine (9) + years of experience in Mission Assurance, Quality, Quality Engineering, Program Management, Engineering Management or Manufacturing.
  • Three (3) + years of leadership experience.
  • Exposure to manufacturing control system such as SAP, Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Lean and Statistical Process Control concepts.
  • Experience with Space Programs and customer interaction
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 / AS9100 Quality Management System certification process.
  • Possess an ACTIVE Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three (3) + years of experience with Space Programs
  • Five (5) + years of experience managing teams.
  • Possess ACTIVE Top Secret/SCI security clearance
  • Experience working with suppliers and inspecting supplier hardware.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 / AS9100 Quality Management System Auditing
  • Experience with represented workforce
  • Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification to drive continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply strong analytical skills.
  • Have participated in Material Review Board (MRB) adjudication for programs.
  • Experience with technical and project management.
  • Have conducted training for personnel
  • Proposal experience
  • Experience in adjudicating hardware manufacturing issues
  • Have functioned as a Cost Account Manager (CAM)
  • Proven ability to be resourceful, well-organized, able to multi-task and coordinate assignments.
  • Leader in a team environment with exceptional interpersonal, communication and organizational skills with exceptional interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.

Salary Range: $160,200 USD - $240,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
