Job Description

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics is looking for a Final Assembly Inspector 2/3 to support the Delivery Inspection located in Palmdale, CA facility. This is an onsite fulltime onsite position.

Responsibilities include

  • Visually and physically inspect aircraft center fuselage structure, system and electrical installations for conformance to engineering requirements using a variety of precision measurement equipment and inspection tools to include micrometers, calipers, ball gages, flashlights, mirrors, ohm meters, laser gauges and depth gages.
  • Structure inspections include location, gap verification, shim installation, hole drilling, fastener installation, sealing and coatings.
  • System installations include tube, hose, valve, fastener installation, sealing and coatings common to hydraulic, pneumatic and fuel systems.
  • Electrical installations include route, clamping, string tie, connector mating, pin insertion, crimping and coatings.
  • Locate, identify and accurately document nonconforming product/material at time of discovery per applicable procedures
  • Visually and physically inspect rework and repair for compliance per engineering requirements.
  • Mentor technicians on nonconforming product/material discovered during inspection to include engineering requirements, how to identify the nonconformance and process improvement.
  • Develop, promote, and maintain collaborative team environment with fellow inspectors, support organizations and customers.
  • Thrive as part of a team and individually to increase quality, efficiency, effectiveness and affordability through process improvement and other quality control methods.

MPR

Basic Qualifications: Final Inspector 2

  • High school diploma and/or GED and 2 years of additional experience
  • Must be able to work any shift
  • Must have basic knowledge of inspection tools 
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in both written and verbal forms.
  • Ability to obtain & maintain Special Program Access prior to start per business requirements
  • Ability to obtain & maintain a DoD Secret clearance (US Citizenship required) prior to start .
  • Must be able to pass formal classroom training to include but not limited to hole drilling, sealing, countersinking, and fastener installation.
  • Must be able to certify for half and full face respirator

MPR

  • High school diploma and/or GED and 4 years of additional experience
  • Must be able to work any shift
  • Must have basic knowledge of inspection tools 
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in both written and verbal forms.
  • Ability to obtain & maintain Special Program Access prior to start per business requirements
  • Ability to obtain & maintain a DoD Secret clearance (US Citizenship required) prior to start .
  • Must be able to pass formal classroom training to include but not limited to hole drilling, sealing, countersinking, and fastener installation.
  • Must be able to certify for half and full face respirator

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Aircraft Inspection experience
  • Competent cross-functional communication and interaction.
  • Familiar with AS9100 Quality Management System
  • Active Secret Clearance

Salary Range: $67,100 USD - $111,900 USD
Salary Range 2: $56,600 USD - $94,300 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
