SSSD has an opening for a Receiving Inspector 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach CA.

As a Receiving Inspector, you will inspects purchased Electrical/Mechanical parts and materials for conformity to standards, specifications, and processing requirements. You will inspect for proper identity and dimensions using such measuring devices as micrometers, gauges, and calipers, as well as performing visual inspection for defects or damage such as corrosion, cracks, dents, scratches, and pits. The Receiving Inspector verifies conformity to program and purchase order requirements, as well as engineering requirements defined in specifications and/or blueprints and makes pass/fail decisions on inspected goods. Records of inspection results are maintained in our ERP system.

Essential Functions include, but are not limited to:

• Review and comprehend engineering and program requirements

• Inspect parts using inspection equipment such as Romer arms, microscopes, micrometers, telescope gauges, and optical comparators

• Conduct and coordinate tests for electrical and mechanical properties and prohibited material analyses

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience

• Ability to read, interpret, and understand aerospace blueprints, including digital data definitions

• Familiarity with quality and/or inspection tools such as microscopes, calipers, or other hand tools related to inspection 

• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Romer arm and/or CMM inspection experience

• Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems

• AS9102 first article inspection experience

Salary Range: $45,400 USD - $79,300 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
