Northrop Grumman Strategic Space Systems Division has an opening for a Physical Dimensional​ Calibration Technician 2/3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals and maintain our world class capabilities in a dynamic environment. This position will be located in Redondo Beach CA.

The selected Calibration Technician 2/3 will need to have the following skills in electronic test measuring equipment and signal generating equipment to conform to set standards. Tests, calibrates, adjusts, and maintains electromechanical, mechanical, optical, pneumatic, hydro mechanical, and pressure-type measuring and indicating instruments. Sets up calibration sequences, methods and procedures according to detailed specifications, blueprints, drawings, and requirements. Disassembles, cleans, repairs, and replaces defective parts of test equipment such as pressure gauges and tension meters. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

This position will be reporting to the Physical/Dimensional Calibration team.

Basic Qualifications (Cal Tech 2): 

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 3 years additional experience in calibration
  • Experience in Calibration Lab Setting: Physical/Dimensional
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/ Secret Clearance   

Basic Qualifications (Cal Tech 3): 

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 5 years additional experience in calibration
  • Experience in Calibration Lab Setting: Physical/Dimensional
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/ Secret Clearance   

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • PMEL or pre-engineering education (with degree or certification) and seven (7) years Physical/Dimensional lab experience in metrology functions.  
  • Demonstrated experience in progressively more complicated calibration and maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of precision measuring equipment and calibration systems.  
  • Knowledge of measurement theory application and processes in more than one discipline. 
  • Ability to take ownership of multiple disciplines, working with customers, researching with vendors, communicating with team, and providing status to management.

Salary Range: $43,600 USD - $72,600 USD
Salary Range 2: $51,800 USD - $86,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
