There is currently an opening for a Quality Technician 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The selected candidate will report to the Business Manager and will support financial reporting activities. This position falls under one of Northrop Grumman's Small Business Units, Sonoma Photonics, Inc. and will be located onsite in Santa Rosa, CA

Essential Functions:

• Performs analyses and tests of raw materials, packaging materials, and/or finished products from manufacturing, to ensure quality standards and compliance to customer and regulatory requirements, and tolerance specifications for the chemical or physical property.

• Performs a variety of qualitative tests or qualitative assays on samples, and to aid in maintenance and certification of test instruments and apparatus to ensure compliance.

• Prepares and monitors quality statistics and reports.

• Reviews production records for conformance to procedures.

• Conducts non-conformance tests of manufactured, packaged or tested products.

• Experience handling/cleaning substrates, inspection and measurements of optics

• Ability to analyze data.

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED and 2+ years hands-on quality assurance experience in the optical thin-film or similar industry. 

• Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and methods.

• Acute attention to detail.

• Good math skills.

• Good verbal communication skills.

• Familiarity with computer programs including Excel and Word to collect data as well as computer programs to collect and evaluate operating data.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with thin film optical materials and thin film characterization techniques.

• Active DoD Security clearance.

Salary Range: $47,600 USD - $79,300 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
