Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a talented and motivated individual for our Specialized Tactical Electronic Warfare Systems repair inspection team in Rolling Meadows, Il. This position reports to the Quality Manager and works under general supervision.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Perform in-process and final inspections on government equipment and control units to include a review of the associated product repair documentation.
  • Confirm acceptable quality standards and workmanship practices in assigned work centers by learning/practicing process specifications and using workmanship standards during everyday job functions.
  • Identify discrepant conditions and generate nonconformance reports for discrepancies discovered during inspection processes.
  • Maintain records of inspection results.
  • The use of common tooling such as calipers, gauge pins and micrometers for inspection will be required for this position.

This role may be filled at a Level 1 or 2 based on the qualifications outlined below.

Basic Qualifications: (Quality Inspector Level 1)

  • High School Diploma/equivalent with 0 Years of experience.
  • Must have Interim clearance or ability to obtain a Secret Clearance. U.S. citizenship required.
  • Strong work ethic and good attitude
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to learn new computer programs/applications.
  • Ability to repeatedly lift 30 pounds from cart to table.
  • Ability to focus and communicate over ambient noise.
  • Must be able to work onsite in Rolling Meadows, IL

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AS/BS degree or higher
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • IPC 610/620 Workmanship Certification
  • J-STD-001 Certification
  • Fluent in use of Microsoft applications and ability to learn new computer programs/applications
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering documentation such as specifications, drawings, parts lists, inspection plans, and supplemental procedures and instructions.
  • Experience in an inspection role.

Basic qualifications: (Quality Inspector Level 2)

  • High School Diploma/equivalent with 2 + years of experience in mechanical inspection, assembly, machining, or other equivalent experience.
  • Must have Interim clearance or ability to obtain a Secret Clearance. U.S. citizenship required.
  • Strong work ethic and good attitude
  • Must be able to read and interpret engineering documentation and inspect to specifications, drawings, parts lists, inspection plans, and supplemental procedures and instructions.
  • Must be able to work onsite in Rolling Meadows, IL
  • Previous experience working in ISO-certified company and using Process Specifications or Military Standards to perform inspection or work activities.
  • Ability to learn new computer programs/applications.
  • Ability to repeatedly lift 30 pounds from cart to table.
  • Ability to focus and communicate over ambient noise.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree /Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Experience with SAP
  • Experience with ISO process audits
  • Experience with First Article Inspections
  • IPC 610/620 Workmanship Certification
  • J-STD-001 Certification
  • Fluent in use of Microsoft applications and ability to learn new computer programs/applications
  • Prior “hands on” experience performing electrical test using various Class B test equipment

Salary Range: $38,100 USD - $63,500 USD
Salary Range 2: $45,400 USD - $75,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
