Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is currently seeking a Manager Supplier Quality 1 responsible for supporting the materials procured from supply base for BWI campus programs.  This position is part of Supplier Performance Management (SPM) organization at sector level, closely aligned with AMS division, will reside in Linthicum, MD and will lead the Factory Supplier Performance Team at BWI campus.

The Supplier Performance Management leader will act as the liaison for Factory cells for all supplier performance concerns at the shop floor with the goal to mitigate the impact of non-conforming vendor materials. Will be responsible for following broader activities:

  • Containment/Tactical
  • Validate non-conformance
  • Assures supplier process and product quality, including contractual, regulatory, and technical compliance.
  • Assess supplier quality and manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Conducts product and process verification activities
  • Monitors supplier quality performance, and drives root cause corrective action analysis for supplier quality issues.
  • Communication
  • Communicate to the Manufacturing Cells and Cell Operations leadership of non-conformances and recovery plans through regular cadence.
  • Communicate with internal or external business units/suppliers/personnel in solving supplier deficiencies.
  • Strategic 
  • Analyze non-conformance data to identify areas for improvement
  • Target improvement initiatives for problematic materials through suppliers/technologies/resources.
  • Foster working relationships with Manufacturing leadership for close integration and support
  • Drives and implements industry practices and strategies to predict where Supplier Quality functions and work products will evolve.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related STEM field and 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • 3+ years of industry experience in Program Management or Mission Assurance or Manufacturing Engineering or Operations Programs Management Experience
  • 2+ years of working knowledge of Material process flow inventory (supply chain management, receiving) or manufacturing/production (production control, product test & evaluation, product sell off).
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 / AS9100 Quality Management System.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience managing and/or leading teams.
  • Experience in the oversight and management of suppliers, supplier evaluations and supplier metrics reporting.
  • Familiarity with SAP inventory/quality transactions
  • Basic understanding of engineering drawings and associated requirements.
  • Defense Industry experience as a Program or Project Manager, Quality Manager, Supply Chain Manager, Engineering Manager or Manufacturing Management
  • Knowledge in various manufacturing processes.

Salary Range: $107,000 USD - $160,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
