Northrop Grumman is looking for a Quality Assurance (QA) Policy and Strategy Analyst 2 for our Buffalo, NY campus.  The employee will be responsible for a variety of activities supporting the Quality and Mission Excellence team.  Activities range from ISO 9001/AS9100 compliance, Internal Audit program coordination, development and maintenance of Process Documentation, Data Management and Facilitation of test equipment calibration via vendors.  Additional activities may include automation of data collection and analysis, development of Microsoft SharePoint tools and applications to improve operational efficiency.

This position will be responsible for developing, maintaining and ensuring compliance with quality assurance requirements, as well as corporate, sector, and site policies and procedures. It also includes auditing all process areas of the organization to ensure requirements and specifications are met.  This role will work directly with operating entities to ensure that process audits, floor sweeps and inspections, and process control analyses are conducted on a continuing basis as specified to enforce requirements and meet specifications. The individual will mentor process owners to implement processes to support the Quality Management System, AS9100 rev D standard. 

In addition to the compliance aspect of the role, the position also includes the efficient coordination and maintenance of the site’s calibrated test assets.  This includes maintaining all data related to calibration, as well as the recall of equipment and coordination with vendors to calibrate all equipment in a timely manner.

In each of the aspects of this role, the ability to understand disparate toolsets is required to query, search, analyze, and report on data to identify trends in non-conformances to enable efforts to improve quality.  This role requires the ability to digitally transform our processes to increase automation and use of data tools to improve operational efficiency.

The candidate must be a self-starter with a proven track record of multi-discipline team experience and possess outstanding analytical, presentation, communication and facilitation skills. Intense attention to detail and strong organizational skills are important to this role, as there is substantial collaboration required across all functional groups and site level efforts. The candidate must also be adept at coaching and leading cross-functional teams throughout the organization to integrate process and engineering solutions into team action plans supporting organizational goals and objectives.

 Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical discipline and 2+ years relevant experience in Quality, Engineering or Manufacturing, (OR 0+ years experience with Master's degree, OR 4+ years with an Associate's degree; OR 6+ years in lieu of degree)
  • Experience conducting process audits
  • Experience in Root Cause Analysis and Correct Action Planning
  • Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products (i.e. creation of Excel macros)
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, ability to present to large groups

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Detailed knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100 and CMMI
  • Experience developing in Microsoft Sharepoint or Power Apps
  • SAP knowledge or experience
  • Experience using TipQA or HQMS
  • Strong Facilitation skills
  • Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification to drive continuous improvement

Salary Range: $63,800 USD - $95,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
