Northrop Grumman Networked Information Solutions (NIS) Division has an opening for a Metrology Calibration Technician 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals and maintain our world class capabilities in a dynamic environment.

This position is in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The Calibration Technician 2 is distinguished by demonstrated competence in independently developing and executing unique measurements, repairing, and calibrating a wide variety of equipment in different disciplines, and detecting and resolving difficult problems.  Documents and maintain procedures, methods, asset tracking, inventory, property audits, and systems for performing measurements.  Assists equipment users in devising methods and procedures for program equipment allocation and obtaining measurements and may be required to operate the equipment/systems for unique or difficult measurements.  Sustain and enhance capital database management, rental equipment, new equipment resources and warehouse management.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education    
  • Experience in calibration lab setting 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS clearance
  • Familiarity with calibration automation software, (I.E. Surecal)
  • Knowledge of asset tracking.



Preferred Qualifications: 

  • PMEL or pre-engineering education (with degree or certification) and three (3) years
  • Demonstrated experience in progressively more complicated calibration and maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of precision measuring equipment and calibration systems.   
  • Knowledge of measurement theory application and processes in more than one discipline.  
  • Active TS Clearance.


Salary Range: $47,100 USD - $78,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
