Quality System Assistant 3 supports and organizes the procurement quality engineering and quality inspectors assuring production hardware and test articles meet engineering and configuration requirements. Further the responsibilities include facilitating meetings to ensure customer acceptance and accuracy. Learn, understand, and train the quality application to internal and external customers.  Reviews manufacturing records to ensure compliance to engineering, configuration, and procedural requirements. The Quality System Assistant will assist in metric and analysis reporting to support manufacturing reviews, investigations and provide operational support as necessary for business success.

Successful candidate will be highly organized, have strong computer and communication skills.  Investigation, problem solving capabilities and attention to detail are critical traits.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Facilitate, plan, conduct, and support the engineering and inspection team responsible for all items that need to procure for use in rocket motor manufacturing.

  • Use business systems MRP, change management, nonconformance to complete procurement tasks (Purchase Requisition, Receiving Inspection, Root Cause and Corrective actions).

  • Lead and support continuous improvements efforts related to Propulsion Systems Principles and Operating Practices.

  • Perform gap analysis to ensure compliance to industry, aerospace, defense standards, and contractual requirements.

  • Use lean principles to produce efficiencies in all aspects of work

  • Has daily interface with team members, leaders, and customers throughout Propulsion Systems.

  • Ensure all documents are prepared in accordance with contractual requirements, department standards, and guidelines.

  • Provide analysis and data to support program investigations.

  • Assist in First Article Inspections (FAI).

  • Prepare and present hardware and material packages to external customers for acceptance.


Salary Range: $48,800 USD - $81,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
