Quality Inspector 3 (Space/Satellite Systems)

Duties:

• Perform in-process and final inspections on product throughout the SMF work centers (Receiving, Manufacturing, or Integration and Test) and perform product build documentation review and end-item data package review. 
• Perform detailed inspections on both Electrical and Mechanical components at the piece part level as well as the assembly and sub-assembly level.
• Uphold quality standards and workmanship practices in assigned work centers by learning/practicing process specifications and employing quality workmanship standards during everyday job functions.
• Assist in developing training material for assigned work center QA group.
• Generate nonconformance reports for discrepancies discovered during inspection processes.
• Perform audits of work areas to ensure compliance with Northrop Grumman ISO 9001/AS 9100 procedures and Lean Manufacturing Principles. 
• Perform in-depth reviews of product build documentation for configuration audit to determine if as-built meets as-designed.
• Act as safety representative during critical and hazardous operations for assigned spacecraft.

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma/equivalent
• U.S. citizen
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Quality Assurance, or relevant experience in Electrical or Mechanical field of work in performance of technical job function.
• Must be able to read engineering documentation and inspect to drawings and parts lists, inspection plans, and supplemental instructions.
• Willingness to support 2nd shift as required, with occasional overtime, weekend, and Holiday support as needed.
• Willingness to travel (though not often) in support of S/C level activities is required.
• Fluent in use of Microsoft applications and ability to learn new computer programs/applications.
• Above average technical writing skills is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associates (2 year) degree in engineering discipline or non-technical 4 year degree from accredited institute.
• Knowledge in Mechanical, Electrical, or Radio Frequency (RF) Engineering is a plus.
• Working knowledge of TipQA and/or Costpoint database applications.
• Knowledge in how to read schematics and wirelists is a plus.
• Previous experience working for an ISO-certified company.

Salary Range: $32 USD - $45 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
