At Northrop Grumman, our employees have incredible opportunities to work on revolutionary systems that impact people's lives around the world today, and for generations to come. Our pioneering and inventive spirit has enabled us to be at the forefront of many technological advancements in our nation's history - from the first flight across the Atlantic Ocean, to stealth bombers, to landing on the moon. We look for people who have bold new ideas, courage and a pioneering spirit to join forces to invent the future, and have fun along the way. Our culture thrives on intellectual curiosity, cognitive diversity and bringing your whole self to work — and we have an insatiable drive to do what others think is impossible. Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.

Since 2001, Northrop Grumman has delivered Through-Life Support to the Royal Australian Air Force’s 34 Squadron located at RAAF Fairbairn in Canberra. The high-performing Northrop Grumman SPA (Special Purpose Aircraft) team is comprised of approximately 50 staff who provide all levels of maintenance, training and logistics support to the fleet of two Boeing BBJ’s and three Dassault Falcon 7X’s.

Your Role:

Due to our continued growth, we are seeking applications for a B1 & B2 Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) to join our SPA program in Canberra, ACT. As a LAME on the SPA program, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of our fleet of the RAAF’s special purpose aircraft fleet, ensuring they are safe and airworthy for operational use, as well as supporting deployed operations as a travelling engineer.

About You:

Experienced in line and heavy maintenance, you are an aviation professional committed to ensuring maintenance and safety requirements are met. You work well within a team but are happy to work autonomously during travelling engineer requirements. Customer service and communication are key as you work closely with and pivot between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

You are B1 and or B2 CASA licenced and ideally are B737 or Falcon 7x type rated, however, if not, Northrop Grumman will facilitate all type-training (without Bond) as part of your transfer and on boarding process when joining the SPA team.

Relocation Assistance:

Relocation assistance is available for yourself (and family if applicable) and will be provided for the successful candidate. This includes assistance with relocation expenses, such as moving costs and temporary accommodation, as well as support with finding accommodation and settling into the Canberra area.

SPA EBA Pay Rates:

In addition to the opportunity to receive training on two highly sought-after aircraft types and your relocation to Canberra, our SPA EBA (Special Purpose Aircraft Enterprise Bargaining Agreement) boasts highly competitive rates. For further details on the pay rates included with this opportunity, we invite you to reach out to our Talent Acquisition team using the contact information provided below.
