Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Materials Processor in Sykesville, Maryland.
This position will be responsible for the following:
- Performs a variety of manual and clerical shipping duties.
- Uses a computer system for tracking, logging, verifying and reporting.
- Follows shipping practices and procedures and prepares materials for shipment.
- Repairs and maintains wooden structures, pallets and boxes in industrial and commercial environment working from blueprints, drawings and oral instructions.
- Performs rough to finished carpentry work. Operates woodworking tools such as electrical saws, nail guns, routers, drills, planners, lathes, jointers and sanders.
- Makes shop computations relating to dimensions of work and selects necessary materials.
- Maintains an inventory of materials in the shop for use at all times.
- Performs a range of activities to prepare items for shipment including routine crating and packaging. Determines packaging requirements from training specifications and from knowledge of materials that need, to be shipped off-site.
- Prepares and ships regulated hazardous materials.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in shipping/receiving
- US citizenship is a prerequisite.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of SAP similar ERP software.
