Northrop Grumman is seeking a Technical Publications Librarian to join our team in Yorktown Virginia.
This position is within the MK 48 Intermediate Maintenance Activity (IMA), which provides critical support to the US Navy’s Atlantic Fleet. This is a Government facility that is comprised of a mixture of Contractor, Civil Service, and Military personnel. This SCA Librarian will perform duties within the Technical Publications Library as part of the Intermediate Maintenance Activity’s Quality Department. Our Team in Yorktown, Virginia is customer focused, process driven, and dedicated to continuous improvement.
Responsibilities Include:
- Update, maintain, and review controlled Publications and Technical Manuals
- Prepare and forward Requests for Problem Resolution (RPRs) through the Common Problem Reporting System (CPRS) for approval
- Conduct audits relating to processes and systems level applications
- Development of various reports, as assigned
- Provide technical data and support to the IMA Quality Manager and customers as required
- Must be disciplined to follow detailed instructions and comply with procedures
- Support continuous process improvement and innovation
- Ability to work occasional overtime to meet specific mission requirements
Basic Qualifications
- Active U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) Secret security clearance
- High school Diploma or HS Degree
- Ability to interpret and assess technical documentation
- Ability to lift 30 lbs. and able to wear Steel Toe Shoes and other safety gear
- Ability to obtain Arms and Ammunition Explosive Screening
- Proficiency in Microsoft products such as Excel, Access, and Word
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates Degree
- Prior manufacturing facility experience
- Practiced at continuous process improvement
- Practiced at effective communication via Training and Briefs
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
