This is a union role within the local 261c.
Scope of Work:
- Fabricate, maintain, and install piping systems. Experience with steam and plumbing systems.
- Must be able to clean and maintain boilers.
- Must have ability to troubleshoot steam, air and water systems.
- Must be able to read and interpret drawings and schematics to install and troubleshoot piping systems.
- Knowledge of sprinkler and deluge systems desirable.
- Candidate must be flexible in accepting additional duties as assigned by supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Candidate must be able to organize work area and maintain neat and proper records.
- Candidate must be able to analyze data and make appropriate judgments and must be able to work effectively with Plant Management.
- High degree of mechanical aptitude and the ability to respond appropriately in high stress situations.

Business Process Management:
- Reference, support, and utilize appropriate GOPs and UOPs.
- Provide improvement suggestions where needed.
- Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining business processes in scope of responsibility.

- Improve quality by continuously improving products and services for our customers.
- Our customers are not only those to whom we sell products but also the end user of any product or service we provide within the company.
Education/Experience:
- Must be able to pass onsite Pipefitter skills test prior to interviewing.
- High school diploma required.
- Must be able to work all three shift schedules, seniority will dictate which shift.
- Some post high school education is preferred.
- Must have completed an approved 4 year piping/plumbing apprenticeship and a minimum of four years experience as a journeyman pipefitter/plumber or ten years pipefitting experience in an approved industrial environment.
- It is preferred the Candidates have pipe and welding certification and must provide documentation showing all applicable experience and training with appropriate references.
- Essential reading skills are required.
Pay:
The current pay rate for this position is $32.74, since this is a union position, this rate is non-negotiable.
