Northrop Grumman Defense Services sector is currently seeking a SCA Engineering Technician to join our growing Subsystems & Software Sustainment (S&SS) Operating Unit Systems Support Group (SSG) team in Warner Robins, Georgia. In this position, the selected candidate will take an active role in information security governance protecting the men and women that fly our nation’s aircraft in harm’s way.

Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

- Perform a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies such as modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables

- Work from diagrams and drawings, makes initial layouts, and uses hand and/or power tools, jigs, and saws

- Make continuity checks on work in process and completed.

- May conduct quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specifications.

- May disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions

- Interpret engineering directions, prototype, and verbal instructions

Basic Qualifications:

- Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience soldering to IPC J-STD-001 or similar experience

- Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience assembling cable and wire harness assemblies to IPC-A-620 or similar experience

- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant soldering, repair, and/or assembly experience

- Must be able to work in a dynamic high paced environment

- Must be a motivated self-starter with the ability to independently prioritize tasks based on demand

- Able to wear safety gear, such as steel toed shoes and safety glasses

- Ability to handle and assemble small parts

- Ability to frequently move and position objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

- Must have or be able to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance

- Must be able to work on-site in Warner Robins, Georgia

Preferred Qualifications:

- IPC J-STD-001 Soldering certification

- IPC-A-610 Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies certification

- IPC-A-620, Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies certification

- Experience with soldering, production work, and fabrication on special test equipment

- Computer skills including proficiency with MS Word and Excel


Salary Range: $18 USD - $18 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
