We are seeking an experienced maintenance professional that will join the Facilities team to maintain and improve our sites equipment and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have the ability to operate, maintain, and provide technical direction for boilers, chillers, air compressors, HVAC, and other assets supporting our operations.

Position pays $38.94/hr per union contract.

Our Elk River site consists of a serene 3,200 acres, with over 20 active buildings, and numerous projects supporting manufacturing, development, and testing for our Defense Systems Division. Our team works to continuously improve, support, and maintain this unique site through a variety of self-directed daily tasks and larger team projects. This role supports 1st shift operations on a 9/80 schedule.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct routine, periodic, and project-based maintenance and repair of facilities machinery, buildings, and equipment as appropriate.
• Preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs to low pressure steam, hot water, and chilled water systems.
• Responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and programming of pneumatic controlled HVAC muti-zone and electronically controlled equipment.
• Conducts routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs to roof top units, air handlers, fan coils, exhaust fans, and CRAC units.
• Performs routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs to compressed air and vacuum equipment to include reciprocating and screw compressors.
• Coordinates with internal customers and external contractors in scheduling repairs to maintain site operation. Provides technical guidance and project coordination assistance during projects associated with facilities owned assets.
• Utilizes CMMS to perform preventative maintenance and assigned work orders.
• May perform work orders to support site operations with work in more than one maintenance trade.
• Supports site environmental and safety guidelines through record keeping and periodic project support.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• US Citizenship
• Must have Minnesota Special Boilers License or Higher
• Ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance
• Valid driver’s license
• 3-5 years applicable experience
• Prefer advanced HVAC, Boiler, or Chiller training or certifications
• Applied experience with troubleshooting and repairing pneumatic controls and upgrading to electronic/digital controls.
• Ability to operate independently with limited supervision

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Exposed to varying degrees of dirt, dust, noise, and hot or cold temperatures.
• May be exposed to fumes, metal shavings, noise and lubricating oils. Must use proper PPE.
• Exposure to heat, noise, and vibration while operating certain equipment.

PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS

• Sustained physical effort handling light to average weight material and working in a strained position.
• Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
