Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector (NGDS) is seeking an SCA Alarm Monitor to join our growing team of diverse professionals supporting our III Corps Mission Command Training program at Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas. The selected candidate will be responsible for providing physical security through the management of personnel access to restricted areas and facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitors alarm systems and Close Circuit Televisions (CCTVs), maintains appropriate automated and manual logs and computer databases, responsible for performing the above tasks and may perform other related duties as designated

  • Work assignments include but are not limited to:

    • Implementing, monitoring, and operating access control systems

    • Receives, responds, and directs emergency personnel.  Ensures access control security system; processes, procedures, and policies comply with the applicable building standard operating procedures, performance work statement and all authoritative guidelines. 

    • Formulates, plans and develops security improvements to the access controls to strengthen existing programs, and ensures that unauthorized individuals are prevented from accessing the facility and safeguards against possible espionage, damage, theft and related threats.

    • Cordially greets visitors and ensures that all visitors entering the controlled access areas in the Mission Training Complex (MTC) are registered and authorized.

    • Determines nature of business and issues appropriate visitor security badges according to clearance level.

    • Maintains the visitor log and requests file; tracks and records all issued security badges

SCA hourly rate: $17.56/hour; Health & Welfare (H&W) as specified in the applicable wage determination.

Basic Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 1 year of experience in physical security and/or access control

  • Active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance

  • Ability to gain and maintain a Defense Information System for Security (DISS) account (formerly Joint Personnel Adjudication System [JPAS])

  • Experience working with alarms and CCTV’s

  • Automated Security Systems and Computer skills experience

  • Must be able to work on-site at Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas

Preferred Requirements: 

  • Writing skills; ability to write in a computerized logging system in an efficient manner

Salary Range: $18 USD - $18 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
