Northrop Grumman, Space Systems, is currently seeking a Manufacturing Operator to join our team at the Bacchus, UT facility. 

Primary assignment is in the Transportation area performing activities and tasks associated with moving rocket motors, tooling and materials.

Position Summary:

Area specific essential functions, responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Demonstrated skills and aptitude to safely lead and efficiently perform rocket motor moves with semi-tractors, Scheuerle transporter, flatbed trucks and large forklifts.

  • Ability to drive semi-tractors, Scheuerle transporter and forklifts in areas with limited clearances and visibility. 

  • Demonstrated ability to safely perform spotting operations and demonstrated willingness to follow the directions of a spotter.

  • Physical ability to individually lift objects up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to read, clearly interpret, and accurately follow GOPs and other written instructions.

  • Must be willing to perform shift work and work on weekends and holidays.  Must be willing to work overtime as required.

  • Complete and sustain sound proficiencies in all required training, including skill based training.  

  • Ability to function effectively under close scrutiny while performing a high visibility operation.

  • Assist the training of new and lower classification operators through on-the-job coaching and mentoring

  • Effectively and constructively communicate with personnel including leadership, coworkers and support team members

  • Participates in PES improvement activities, process/procedure improvements, standard work instructions and the global improvement of Operations

  • Engage in and promote SIS activities, hazard abatements, OP-E, Take Two, etc.

  • Demonstrate the initiative and ability to become knowledgeable and proficient in most area processes and support most levels of hands-on operations

  • Work to enhance the safety, quality, cost and scheduling performance within the work area

  • Other duties as assigned by leadership

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School plus 4 or more years of heavy equipment driving experience (small forklifts, large forklifts, and flatbed trucks).

  • Must possess the ability to read in-plant handling manual instructions including special tie-down arrangements and general and special safety equipment.

  • Proven ability to work within a team environment and work well with customers.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Current Class A CDL with the ability to obtain applicable endorsements, such as Haz-Mat.

  • Shall provide a current MVR with zero moving violations in the past year.

  • Prefer knowledge of FMSR regulations and possession of a valid Class A CDL and Endorsements.

  • Two year driving transportation vehicles of up to vehicles with a GVWR of 26,001 or its equivalent in on-the-job training either as a medium equipment or forklift operator.

  • Functional with basic computer functions including Word, and ability to operate mobile devices.



Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
