Northrop Grumman is seeking an SCA Engineering Technician to join our team in Yorktown, VA. This position is in the MK48 Intermediate Maintenance Activity with an onsite repair capability for the MK48 Heavyweight Torpedo. This individual will complete a variety of maintenance actions and repairs using detailed procedures and will have oversight from a direct manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Setup workstations with computers and all necessary peripheral devices such as docking stations, printers, keyboard, etc.

  • Maintain inventory of all workstations and necessary peripherals

  • Routinely check computer hardware to ensure functionality

  • Install and configure appropriate software and preform verification testing to ensure functionality

  • Ensure security and privacy settings on network and workstation computers

  • Provide orientation and guidance to new users on how to operate new software and computer equipment

  • Provide technical support to current workforce of an Automated Process Control System used to process the MK48 Heavyweight torpedo

  • Develop and submit System Trouble Reports to the government to identify software issues or institute process improvements when deficiencies are noted during software use

  • Develop training material and provide training on a reoccurring basis to new and existing work force

  • Configure the Automated Process Control System software and hardware on multiple workstations throughout the facility and off-site training center

  • Administer user accounts and user password.

  • Create or use established queries to provide customer data for failure rates, rework, system usage, etc.

  • Attend monthly user group teleconferences to discuss current problems/issue, future software updates and development of new future web-based software

  • Assist in software testing, development, and reviewing of requirements for system software functions

  • Maintain records/logs electronically identifying issues/resolutions for future trend analysis

Basic Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent or an Associates degree in Management Information Systems or Information Technologies and a minimum of 0-3 years' experience in related field

  • Ability to meet annual screening per OPNAV 5530/1 (Report of Screening for Personnel Assigned Arm, Ammunition & Explosives Security Related Duties). Items checked include, but not limited to, Criminal History Record Information, Foreign Influence, Financial History, Emotional and Mental Disorders

  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft application (Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point and Access)

  • Current Interim Secret Security Clearance to start employment

  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment such as steel toe shoes

  • Good communication skills, both verbal and writing

  • Travel 10%

Preferred Qualifications: 
 

  • 4+ years of experience in the MK48 Heavyweight Torpedo program or similar Ordnance programs which performs weapon maintenance

  • BS degree with at least 2 years’ experience working as a Tier 1 User Support team

  • Experience in database systems and the ability to understand software interdependencies

  • Experience to prioritize and handle multiple customers simultaneously


Salary Range: $1 USD - $28 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
