Northrop Grumman is seeking experienced personnel with P-3 aircraft mechanic background to support a maintenance program with Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in Jacksonville, FL. The CBP P-3 fleet consists of Airborne Early Warning (AEW) and Long-Range Tracker (LRT) high-endurance, all-weather, tactical turbo-prop aircraft. The AEW aircraft are utilized primarily for long-range patrols along the entire U.S. border, and in source and transit zone countries. The LRT aircraft are used to intercept, track airborne and surface threats in source and transit zone countries. The P-3 aircraft are equipped with state-of-the-art, highly sophisticated sensor equipment, i.e., radar, electro-optical and infrared (EO/IR) detecting systems.

*This is a Service Contract Act position.
**This position will support All Shifts: Days, Nights and Weekends as required.
Your duties will include:
Maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures, structural components and engines of complex to extreme difficulty.
Maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems and mechanical components.
Applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions.
Applies technical expertise in restoring equipment condition and operation.
Specific Tasks:
Performs duties as Airframe Mechanic on P-3 aircraft.
Troubleshoot, repair and service P-3 aircraft components and engine systems.
Conducts diagnosis of malfunctions.
Perform maintenance, disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, re-assembly or adjustment of various aircraft component systems in accordance with technical specifications and engineering instructions.
Maintain the repairs of U. S. Customs and Border Protection P-3 aircraft systems and components including, but not limited to T-56 engines, 54H60-77 propellers, auxiliary power units, flight controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, oxygen and mechanical components.
Apply professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufacturers manuals / specifications.
Performs corrosion control, enters in the maintenance records description of the work performed and verifies the work was performed satisfactorily, and other tasks as deemed necessary.
Use personally owned hand tools and comply with a 100% tool accountability and control process; Use customer provided tools requiring calibration and specialized test equipment AND Physical ability to become respirator qualified and work in confined spaces.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
1. High School diploma.
2. A minimum of 4 years’ experience on P-3 or similar platform (C-130).
3. FAA Airframe Certificate or FAA Powerplant Certificate.
4. Ability to obtain a U.S. passport.
5. Ability to obtain/maintain a DOD Active Secret Level Security Clearance
6. Ability to obtain/maintain a Department of Homeland Security CBP Background Investigation; CBP Background Investigation is required to start.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. FAA A&P Certificate
2. A minimum of 4 years’ experience supporting P-3 or similar platform (C-130) in the structural repair, fabrication, modification and installation of sheet metal parts, items and assemblies.
3. 4 years’ experience supporting P-3 or similar platform (C-130), T-56 engines, 54H60-77 propellers, auxiliary power units.
4. Familiarity with the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) or equivalent.
5. Current CBP Security Credentials.
6. Active Secret or Higher Security Clearance.
