Northrop Grumman Space Systems Sector in Azusa, CA seeks a Principal Software Engineer (Level 3) or Senior Principal Software Engineer (Level 4) to join our team.

The selected candidate will join the Defense Support Program (DSP) Operations, Mission Threat Analysis and Engineering Sustainment (DOMES) program and support the design, development, documentation, testing, integration, and debugging of software written in C++ and other languages. The candidate will have the opportunity to take ownership of difficult problems and drive to a solution while working in a supportive team environment. This role will report on-site daily.

Basic Qualifications:

• Principal Software Engineer (Level 3): Bachelor's degree in STEM with 5 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree in STEM with 3 years of relevant experience
• Senior Principal Software Engineer (Level 4): Bachelor's degree in STEM with 9 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree in STEM with 7 years of relevant experience
• Experience with C++ or other OO language such as Python, Java, C# (C++ preferred)
• Understanding of OOP concepts
• Current active DoD Secret Clearance or higher

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with AI/ML
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal and analytic skills
• Thrive on colleague interactions and collaborations
• Proficiency in software configuration management and a version control tools (Git/GitHub/Bitbucket)
• Knowledge of Agile development concepts, methodologies, and associated tools (Jira/Atlassian tools)
• Linux operating system experience (RHEL)
• Current active DoD Top Secret clearance or higher

Salary Range: $104,600 USD - $157,000 USD

Salary Range 2: $129,700 USD - $194,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
