Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is seeking a Systems Engineering, Integration and Test (SEIT) Lead at our Rolling Meadows, IL location.  The selected candidate will report to the SEIT Targeting Department.  The SEIT Targeting Department supports various Targeting Operating Unit programs including LITENING and IRST as well as restricted programs related to other Business Units. The SEIT Lead provides leadership in applying the core principles of systems engineering in order to deliver innovative, affordable, highly reliable systems solutions that meet customer needs, key performance parameters, and program execution goals. The SEIT Lead will lead multi-disciplined engineering teams (ranging from 1 to 30+ engineers) from business capture through system design and then integration and test of highly complex technical systems.  The SEIT Lead must be able to satisfy allocated cost and schedule requirements and managing customer deliverables.Responsibilities may include engineering leadership for system architecture development, requirements development, hardware/software design, verification and validation activities, and production program engineering support. Basic Qualifications: 
  • BS degree in engineering or related technical degree with a minimum of 5 years’ related experience in an engineering environment or a MS degree in engineering or related technical degree with a minimum of 3+ years of related experience in engineering environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in analytical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Excellent decision making and communication (written and oral) skills
  • Strong work ethic and the proven leadership skills in an integrated product team (IPT) environment
  • Candidates should have background and understanding in various tools and techniques associated with cost/schedule management
  • This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
  • Candidate must have the ability to obtain a full Secret clearance prior to start.
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • MS degree in electrical engineering, systems engineering, or related technical degree with a minimum of 3 years’ related experience in an engineering environment
  • Experience in all aspects of the engineering process from proposal / requirements analysis through verification testing
  • Experience in a Systems Engineering Integration & Test environment for EO/IR, laser, or related complex electronic systems especially within the defense industry
  • Experience in development and Earned Value Management (EVM) of cost accounts and schedules
  • Active Top Secret clearance

Salary Range: $99,800 USD - $149,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
