Northrop Grumman Space Systems is searching for an experienced Manager, Programs 2 to support the Glide Phase Interceptor Program within the Program Engineering Management team at Launch Vehicles business unit in Chandler, AZ.

The Glide Phase Interceptor (GPI) Program Engineering (PEM) leads the engineering management of GPI interceptor Kill Vehicle development effort. The PEM provides technical leadership of a multidisciplinary engineering team to successfully complete the required program milestones while ensuring compliance with both internal and customer requirements, ensures timely completion of customer deliverables, and leads resolution of significant technical and programmatic issues. The PEM will interface directly with the government customer to shape the system capabilities to meet mission requirements and intent. The PEM provides leadership to ensure successful development and integration of a multi-stage booster propulsion system with the interceptor, development of avionics, All Up Round Testing, lead Flight Test activities, as well as integration of the key interceptor guidance & control, software, and sensor technologies into the overall system, the associated kill-chain, and the models and simulations used to inform design and predict performance. The PEM executes project management, including integrated master schedule (IMS) development and earned value management system (EVMS) support. The ideal candidate will have broad knowledge regarding missile and interceptor system technologies, specifically guidance avionics, seeker, and airframe. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in resolving complex problems are essential.

Directs all phases of programs from inception through completion. Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs. Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes. Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract. Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. Establishes design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test. Develops new business or expands the product line with the customer. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications. Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science Engineering degree plus 9 years of experience; Masters degree plus 7 years of experience.

On Site Position in Chandler, AZ- No Remote Option.

U.S. Citizenship is required

Interim or Active Secret Security Clearance is required

Ability to travel is required.

Salary Range: $127,700 USD - $191,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
