Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is currently hiring an Manager, Program Level  3 – Risk, Issue and Opportunity to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This leadership role is located in Palmdale, CA.

As the Risk, Issue, and Opportunity Manager at Northrop Grumman, you will be part of the Program Integration team and be responsible for managing risk across the enterprise. You will interact closely with Sr. Leadership and other key stakeholders. 

Key Program Responsibilities:

  • The primary objective will be to communicate and implement the risk strategy and act as the risk and opportunity management key expert.
  • Facilitate risk meetings to identify, assess and manage program vulnerabilities and opportunities and review mitigation actions across multiple operating units.
  • Drive the implementation of risk and opportunity awareness and integration.
  • Providing guidance to the business on identifying and managing key risks, controls, metrics and issues.
  • Analyze the current enterprise risk registers to ensure process is being followed and implement corrective action where needed.
  • Assisting in bids and proposals review of risk registers.
  • Seeking continuous improvement and enhancements of current risk management methodologies
  • Professionally maintaining enterprise-wide adherence to processes and procedures.
  • Other ad-hoc tasks as requested.
  • This position requires a comprehensive understanding of restricted and DoD customer communities, program management skills, proven strategic planning and business execution capabilities, as well as the ability to work collaboratively across the enterprise.
  • The selected candidate must have a comprehensive knowledge of program management standards, policies, and guidelines. The selected individual must be able to interact with and influence executive level management and customer’s and communicate effectively with both oral and written presentations.
  • Work in compliance with company policies and procedures

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor of Science degree AND 9 years of related professional/military experience that includes a background in engineering, program management, or related field involving government programs, OR a Master of Science degree AND 7 years of related professional/military experience that includes a background in engineering, program management, or related field involving government programs. Will also consider a high school diploma with a minimum of 14 years in related professional and/or military experience in Program management or Quality and Mission Assurance, that includes a background in the aircraft, aerospace, and/or manufacturing industries and within management or team lead roles.
  • At least 2 years of team lead and/or management experience.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in root cause and corrective action processes.
  • Experience with risk and opportunity tools such as RIO or TRIO.
  • Business acumen in the context of the impact of quality or lack of quality on Profit & Loss, Cost and Schedule.
  • An active DoD Top Secret clearance that has been granted or renewed within the last 6 years or is enrolled in continuous evaluation.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to create trusted customer relationships.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style
  • Excellent oral, written, and electronic communication skills.
  • Proven ability to effectively work across multiple organizations to form teams, gain internal support, act with speed, and make tough decisions.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification
  • Open to direction and collaborative work style; commitment to get the job completed.
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence tools
  • Prior clearance to a Special Access Program (SAP) or Special Compartmentalized Information (SCI)

Salary range: $176,100 - $264,100

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
